Did you see what happened in the game on Sunday?

If you didn’t you can visit www.TSN.ca to get all the headlines and highlights!

TSN is one of my favourite website that I visit frequently. For the most part this is how a keep up with my favourite sports each week.

The TSN web site has a lot of information on any sport you are looking for from NBA to Curling to Boxing you name it they have it. Each sport has their own page with access to the roaster, schedule, players, injuries and so such more. It also has podcast, full stories and games and players. Columnists/bloggers how type in their thought on various subjects.  There are photo galleries, game calendars.

You can also registers for the TSN meaning you can become a member of the TSN site.  Being a member means you have more access into the website, on interacting with other members and writing your thoughts in and getting the chance to in great prizes.

TSN mobile offers many different ways to take TSN with you wherever you go, with many more on the way. No matter what kind of handheld device you carry with you, we'll make sure you're always “in the know” before anyone else.

The website has a live broadcast, contests, TSN shop, newsletters, and a community page. On the advertising on TSN has information on the advertising policy, privacy policy and terms and condition. Also who and how the advertiser can contact regarding placing an ad on TSN.
My experience with the TSN website was very interesting. I didn’t know how much information on each sport and on any player you can think of. I get to interact and ready on and watch games that I missed last week. You can buy TSN gear and sign up for a daily newsletter that they send directly to your email. They have so much stuff you can do on this site; you can spend hours on it. It had many different advertiser and type of advertisement.

There is not really anything I would change. The website itself it is very informative and has a lot of advertising. The only thing someone might say is wrong with the site is it can be a little overwhelming with all the links to different stories and headlines. Personally I think sports site have to be that way there are so many different sports and different things going on, that they have to keep up with it all or else the website would be pointless.

Change!

Business Side....
Over time, technology has changed the advertising industry drastically. With access to consumer information, which is easier to collect over the internet companies are customizing their ads toward specific audiences, and even connecting ads to cell phones. Technology opened so many doors for the adverting business, with this type of technology ads and commercials appeal to a specific audience, congregate different values and contain different esthetics. The internet has become a major part of the communication community. Web surfer can interact with ads and can benefit directly from an ad because of personalized messages.
With such advanced technology it’s become a lot easier for advertiser and companies to target a specific age, gender and it’s also make it easier to interact and have more of a personal relationship with the consumer.

Creative side…
Ads from the 50s followed the typical old style of live were women were looked at like they should be at home with the children, cooking, cleaning, and preparing a good home for her husband. Men and women are not looked at from the same stand points at all. I feel that the woman also get the stereotypical role in the advertisements. In the 50’s ads copy was simple and the ads in general just lack a lot of creative thought. Ads now are much more revealing in a lot of different ways than ads in early times did. Clothes reveal much more skin than they ever have, curse words are written out and sex is promoted a lot. This would have been a big NO! in the 50s.

Play-Doh: Safe no matter what you make

Play-Doh: Safe no matter what you make
Created by DDB Singapore

South East Asia brings one of the most humorous of ad campaigns for a children’s play product: Play-Doh: Safe no matter what you make. To those with a sense of humor, coming across these would cause quite the chuckle.

Now I would think and everyone would probably agree that these ads are not for the children themselves but target to a younger generation of parents that would see the picture on the magazine.
They are implying that Play-Doh is better for children than playing violent video games, copying or watching R-rated movies.

I like this ad because out of all the ads campaign I’ve seen this one really caught my eye and made me laugh. I like the ironic twist and the sense of humor that this ad brings. I think this ad would be affected to the target group (younger parents) because they could also find this campaign funny and ironic. I think because agency took something so childish and turn it into something funny but at the same time sending a message that is so true, they all just be drawn to the campaign and will also remember that ironic Play-Doh campaign.
